Navigating the Equality Delivery System (EDS): A learning event for voluntary and community organisations
The Men’s Health Forum, the Race Equality Foundation and the Women’s Health and Equality Consortium, are hosting a joint learning event to inform voluntary and community organisations about the new Equality Delivery System (EDS).
This FREE event will be held from 9.30 – 4.30 pm on March 23rd at NCVO, Regent’s Wharf, 8 All Saints Street, London, N1 9RL.
Launched in July 2011, the EDS is a tool for both current and emerging NHS organisations – in partnership with patients, the public, staff and staff-side organisations – to use to review their equality performance and to identify equality objectives and actions. It offers local and national reporting and accountability mechanisms.
The EDS guide stresses the importance of engagement of patients and the public, as well as emphasising the role of voluntary and community organisations, in using the EDS to progress equality in and through the NHS.
This event is designed to enable voluntary and community organisations to gain an understanding of the EDS, and how they can use the System, to help progress equality and deal with health inequalities amongst their communities, in and through the NHS.
