Vitamin supplements and Alzheimer's

Recent research suggests that high levels of the substance homocysteine (a product of the metabolism of protein) in the blood can lead to an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. Some clinical trials suggest that vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12 can lower homocysteine levels. However, there is not yet any clear evidence that increasing your intake of these vitamins can prevent or delay dementia.
