FootballersTaking no exercise is as bad for you as a packet of fags a day

Research suggests that only one-third of adult men are moderately active on a regular basis and just one in ten are vigorously active.

The lifestyle of a couch potato creates as big a risk of heart disease as smoking a pack of cigarettes every day. Being inactive has also been linked to a higher risk of stroke, diabetes, colon cancer, osteoporosis, anxiety, depression, memory loss and low self-esteem.

Exercise is a cheap and reliable health benefit which, if it were a drug, would almost certainly be in far greater demand than Viagra. Fortunately, however, it's never to late to begin exercising - and you don't have to buy a jock-strap. This section will show you how to improve your stamina, strength and suppleness in the comfort of your own home.
